Frequently asked questions
Where is Like Family located?
We have support workers across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia. We also offer phone and video bookings if you live out of area.
Is Like Family a registered NDIS provider?
Yes, and we have been since 2016! This means we can provide social support services to agency, plan managed and self-managed NDIS participants.
Why are your rates so much lower than the NDIS Price Limit?
We can offer more affordable rates because we specialise in social and community support (and don't offer medical and personal care). Our focus on community participation is designed to maximise the amount of care you receive, so you can set bigger and better goals for your Core Support and Capacity Building plans.
Can I use my NDIS funding with Like Family?
You can use the following 5 NDIS support categories with us: Assistance with Daily Life, Assistance with Social and Community Participation, Increased Social and Community Participation, Improved Daily Living, Improved Health and Wellbeing.
How you use your funding will depend on what's reasonable and necessary to help you achieve your goals!
Can I use my Home Care Package with Like Family?
We collaborate with a variety of Home Care Package providers, including self-managed options, to offer comprehensive aged care support services. Whether you're managing your care package independently or through a provider, we’ll match you with the ideal support worker.
Are there any services Like Family can't help me with?
Our support workers cannot help you with activities that involve medical or personal care. This includes treating wounds, administering medication, or showering. They also cannot perform professional services, like giving legal or financial advice.

I am currently sitting my Cert III in Aged Care (Individual Support) as I want a job where I can help others with my life skills. I still volunteer in my spare time as there is nothing more rewarding than giving your time to a cause you believe will benefit others.

I come from an amazing Kenyan community where I've learnt about all kinds of human beings, learned how to cook amazing food and share it too. I would love to share my knowledge with other people and put a smile on their faces.

Hi!! My name is Philip. I am confident in my ability to be a healthy role model, someone to rely on, but most importantly, just be there for them in the good and bad times.
