In addition to two decades of early childhood education I have worked and volunteered with all age groups. Volunteering with St John Ambulance from the age of 11yrs I provided First aid at public events and provided unpaid social contact for aged residents at Colton Close (Benetas) Glenroy. I was also a paid employee of St John as part of their First aid in schools program, delivering basic first aid classes to primary age students across Victoria. For a short time I worked in immigration detention with unaccompanied minors from. These young men possibly taught me as much as I taught them. No matter what age I enjoy sharing skills and enabling people to be their best and get the most from life. I often consider situations differently to others, devising solutions where others may give up. ^& ^&Firstly talk about what they want to learn or try. What knowledge or skills they have and what they would like to achieve. If the activity needs to be modified to make it more accessible. Examply, Knitting.
