I think I would be a good Social Carer because of my empathetic and caring nature. I study a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Politics & International Studies. I chose this major mainly because I care about other people, including various societal issues and social justice. I also have experience looking after others as my grandmother has dementia and struggles with daily tasks. I also have 5 years of customer service experience at Red Rooster. I work both Front of House and Back of House, however, I have always preferred Front of House because I genuinely enjoy interacting and making conversation with others, having a laugh. ^& ^&In my spare time, I enjoy dancing, listening to music, watching TV, watching movies, reading, exercising, following politics etc. I would say perhaps I could share my love of a particular TV series/movie or book with someone in the community. I enjoy reading because books enable me to learn about different experiences and perspectives. I am able to live different lives and go to different places through reading. An all-time favourite of mine would have to be "It Ends With Us" by Colleen Hoover. In this novel, the main protagonist is physically abused by her partner on multiple occasions. Through following her journey, I was able to better understand the challenges of victims of domestic violence, including how hard it may be to leave an abusive partner. This book really broadened my perspective and I was able to became more empathetic and understanding. ^&
