As a fourth year physiotherapy student, I have learnt about many disabilities and would like to further my development by establishing relationships, interacting, understanding, and support people in need. I also have experience with children/adults with disabilities as my cousin suffered from a high fever as a baby. As a result, he experiences epilepsy and his maturity cannot pass a 10 year olds. I was born in New Zealand and came here when I was five. Ever since, I have loved travelling especially my visit back home to Korea. I have worked in a retail store for five years, which allows me to adapt personality to cater different needs. Before retail, I used to be a barista for four years which drives my passion for coffee and eating out. I believe the after helping anyone in a job allows the job to be fulfilling and allows you to work for longer. I believe that this job is much more than just taking care of someone, as I understand that this job is not possible without hearing their story and getting to know the person to a deeper level. ^& ^&I believe my education in physiotherapy will help someone in community that be in any level of the Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS). As I understand what needs the individual has according to the GMFCS. Furthermore, understanding that those who suffer from any of the condition below may express themselves in numerous different ways will allow me to identify what helps or worsens their expressions. An example of this would be individuals with anxiety disorder will want to avoid extremely busy shopping centres. People with depression tend to need high levels of compassion, so friendly tones, warm gestures and patience will be key. ^&
