My ability to adhere to the code of ethics, being an organized and empathetic person besides being a patient person makes me a good social carer. I am non judgemental. Also, I am a trustworthy person passionate about the job. My background in teaching school kids (both mainstream and special education) for nearly 15 years in Australia and Overseas has given me a great deal of positive attitude towards this role. My love for cooking and feeding and caring for people makes me a good social carer. ^& ^&I would love to share my skills in cooking in the community which will involve team work. Eg. If I would be demonstrating cooking of fried rice for the participants firstly, I would develop enthusiasm in the participants and show them how fun it is to cook. Then talk to them about safe cooking practices to ensure the safety of participants. I would like the participants to work in a team. I would give everyone a fair chance in preparing. For example, I would prefer some to cut up veggies, some to get the ingredients ready for grinding and when everything is ready to be cooked, I will show them how to sautee vegetables, stir in the mixture, add the right amount of water, add salt and pepper and close the lid on the rice cooker till cooked. In the meanwhile, I would talk to the participants about the aroma and the effects of each spice in the dish to create enthusiasm and knowledge. ^&
