I love knowing I've made someone's day a little easier and a whole light brighter. As a professional touring musician and theatre artist with over 25 years experience, I've enjoyed an incredibly diverse range of experiences working from Cunnamulla to Kuala Lumpur with different cultural communities, environments and age groups. This vast experience has equiped me with excellent skills in attuning quickly to the needs (emotional and sensory) of a group as well as to individuals, and the flexibility to meet those needs. I am also a music and literacy educator, and trained Abecedarian facilitator. The Abecedarian Approach is a way of supporting learning through nurturing caregiving and communication. I am a kind-hearted, warm and fun person with a great sense of humour and a positive outlook on the world. I have outstanding communication skills which I use to put people quickly at ease. It is important to me that every person I come in contact with feels respected, seen and valued. ^& ^&As simple as bringing my guitar and a book of songs to sing along with. Or perhaps we'd write our own! I love to sew unusual and creative things - we could create a toy or makeover a rescued doll from the op shop to re-donate. I have a magical collection of curious objects that I use in workshops with children. I call these objects 'story seeds' (eg: a large antique metal key, a colourful spinning top, a bejewelled egg that opens to reveal...etc). We might explore these 'story seeds' and see what story we can grow from our imaginations....or simple enjoy looking at them. ^&
