I’m a gentle and caring person with sincere nurturing qualities and a big heart, which I believe could be put to good use as in this field of work. I have relevant previous experience from my personal life that I believe sets me apart from your typical applicants. Long story short, when I was 15 years old I was placed into a home for disadvantaged children after suffering years of abuse in the home I grew up in. The support I received there from the youth workers was life changing and put me on the right track, instead of letting my circumstances dictate the outcome of my life. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the kindness and support of the youth workers I was placed into the care of, and I am forever grateful to them. Ever since, I’ve had a burning passion inside of me to be of service to others in a similar way and give back to the community, because I have personally witnessed the power of loving kindness and support in young people’s lives when they are most vulnerable, and how much of a difference you can make. I have done a lot of inner work on myself the past few years and have learnt a lot about emotional intelligence, psychology and the effects of trauma in early life, as those are topics I’m very interested in, and which I am continuously learning more about. I believe this knowledge, as well as my personal experience, would be an advantage in dealing with tricky situations. I have spent all my working years to date in positions that don’t necessarily align with my passion and sensitive nature, so I would love to finally make the switch to something that aligns with the core of who I am as a person. I’m very open minded and understanding of people’s unique needs and differences and I have a strong willingness to learn and to obtain any necessary credentials required to further improve as a social support worker. ^& ^&I have a big interest in spirituality which means I'm very open minded, and I have a passion for learning about psychology, self-help and the effects of trauma. My hobbies include yoga, meditation, astrology, spending time in nature and reading, and I would be happy to discuss any of these topics with any clients who are interested, as I strongly believe in empowering people to becoming their best selves.^&
