I have a large family, so i’m always looking after my siblings, my grandmum, nieces, nephews and cousins. I love cooking and looking after people, that’s one way i learned to express myself growing up. I have worked in various care fields, i have worked and gained experience in a childcare sector, as an AIN, a Youth worker and a NDIS Disability Support worker. I believe my personal and professional experience would make me a great social carer^& ^&I have a passion for cooking, and I want to share my skills with someone in the community who is interested in learning how to cook. Here's an example of how I might do that: 1. **Discover Interest:** During a community gathering, I strike up a conversation with the client, (let’s say her name is Lisa), who mentions that she's always wanted to improve her cooking skills. 2. **Express Willingness to Help:** I express my love for cooking and offer to teach Lisa some cooking techniques and recipes if she's interested. 3. **Plan a Cooking Session:** Lisa agrees and suggests we plan a cooking session at her place. We choose a convenient time that works for both of us. 4. **Select a Recipe:** Ahead of the session, I ask Lisa about her food preferences and dietary restrictions. Based on her input, I suggest we cook a simple and delicious pasta dish. 5. **Gather Ingredients:** I provide Lisa with a list of ingredients needed for the recipe. We discuss any substitutions or alternatives based on what she already has in her kitchen. 6. **Demonstrate Techniques:** When we meet at Lisa's place, I guide her through each step of the cooking process. I explain techniques like chopping, sautéing, and seasoning. 7. **Hands-On Experience:** I encourage Lisa to take an active role in the cooking process. I show her how to hold a knife properly, how to check the doneness of pasta, and how to adjust flavors with seasonings. 8. **Answer Questions:** Throughout the session, I answer any questions Lisa has about cooking. I also share tips and tricks to make the process easier and more enjoyable. 9. **Enjoy the Meal:** Once the dish is ready, we sit down to enjoy the meal together. This provides an opportunity for us to chat and bond over our shared experience. 10. **Share Recipe Variations:** After the meal, I share variations of the recipe, suggesting ways to customize it with different ingredients or flavors. 11. **Provide Resources:** I give Lisa a list of helpful online resources, such as cooking tutorials, recipe websites, and cooking forums, so she can continue learning on her own. 12. **Plan Future Sessions:** Lisa expresses her enthusiasm for learning more. We decide to schedule additional cooking sessions in the coming weeks to explore different cuisines and techniques. 13. **Stay in Touch:** We exchange contact information and agree to stay in touch. I encourage Lisa to reach out if she has any cooking-related questions or wants to plan our next cooking session. ^&
