Vivid 2025 is set to be one of Sydney's top winter attractions, and for good reason. The annual festival features everything from spectacular light installations to musical performances to food experiences. There's truly something for everyone!
This year's theme is "Vivid Sydney, Dream". It will explore the universal, boundless power of dreams as a source of creativity, connection, and inspiration, inviting attendees to collectively imagine and experience new possibilities illuminated through light, music, ideas, and food.
Vivid 2025 will take place from Friday 23 May - Saturday 14 June, and span 8.5km from Circular Quay to Central Station. Whether you venture out to Darling Harbour or The Rocks, there will be plenty of music and food to fuel your night.
Vivid Sydney is all about accessibility and inclusion, so people of all ages and abilities can enjoy their night in a safe and inclusive environment. All the installations are wheelchair accessible and have QR codes for audio descriptions.
Here are our top accessible picks for Vivid 2025 that you can enjoy with your Like Family Social Carer or Member:

Circular Quay & The The Rocks
This is often the most popular and potentially crowded zone, home to iconic projections on the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, and immersive light art throughout the historic area.
The Vivid Light Walk in this zone is generally wheelchair accessible with bitumen or concrete paths. However, some areas within The Rocks may have varying gradients and could require assistance, especially during peak times. Visitors should be prepared for potential congestion here, particularly on weekends and the public holiday.
Designated accessible viewing areas are available for key installations, including the Sydney Opera House projections; check the accessibility maps for specific locations.
This zone features a high concentration of Light installations, along with Music events at various venues and Food options.
Barangaroo
The newer area offers a slightly calmer and often more family-friendly Vivid experience, focusing on cultural storytelling and technology with installations along the waterfront and within Barangaroo Reserve.
This zone is generally considered accessible, with mostly level access from surrounding streets and along the waterfront (Wulugul Walk). The Light Walk through Barangaroo Reserve and Argyle Street is also accessible. Accessible viewing areas are available within Barangaroo Reserve and along the waterfront.
Barangaroo has a strong focus on Light installations, particularly within Barangaroo Reserve, along with Ideas events and some Food options.
Darling Harbour & Tumbalong Park
Darling Harbour is a dynamic and vibrant precinct popular with families, featuring spectacular light and water shows, interactive installations, and the main outdoor Music stage at Tumbalong Park.
Access to and within Darling Harbour is mostly level from surrounding streets, making it easily accessible for mobility devices and prams. Accessible viewing areas are available for the water theatre shows and performances at Tumbalong Park.
Darling Harbour is a major hub for Light installations and projections (including water features), the primary venue for free Vivid Music performances at Tumbalong Park, and offers various Food options.

The Goods Line and Inner City
This zone transforms an urban walkway into a creative space with interactive light installations, fire features, and unique events.
The Goods Line itself is a largely accessible elevated walkway, but connections to surrounding areas should be considered. Information on specific accessible viewing areas within this zone should be checked on the official accessibility maps.
The Goods Line and Inner City feature a range of Light installations, including fire art, and is the location for the Vivid Fire Kitchen (Food). Some Ideas events may also be held in this area or nearby inner-city venues.

Martin Place and the CBD
Returning for 2025, Vivid is bringing large-scale projections and installations to the heart of the CBD, along with a variety of associated events. Martin Place and the surrounding CBD areas generally have good pedestrian infrastructure.
Accessible routes within the precinct will be detailed on the accessibility maps, and accessible viewing areas for the major projections in Martin Place will be designated.
This zone features significant Light projections and installations on buildings, hosts ticketed Vivid Dinners, and includes various Ideas and Food events in the surrounding CBD.
