NDIS Worker Orientation Module: What it is, who needs it and how to access it

If you’re looking to work as an NDIS support worker for an NDIS registered provider like Like Family, you’ll need to complete the mandatory NDIS Worker Training Module. This is an online course developed to help you better support people living with disability.

The NDIS Worker Training Module was created to help explain the obligations of workers under the NDIS Code of Conduct from the perspective of NDIS participants.

Don’t worry, though. The process is fairly straightforward. We’ve collected everything you need to know about the NDIS Worker Orientation Module for you in this guide to make your path to NDIS social care as easy as possible.

What is the NDIS Worker Orientation Module?

The NDIS Worker Orientation Module is an interactive online course. It’s titled “Quality, Safety and You”, which offers some indication as to the things you can expect from the module itself.

The online course consists of four separate modules, which should take about 90 minutes to complete.

It will help you understand what the NDIS is, the role of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, your responsibilities under the NDIS Code of Conduct, and your role in achieving the vision of the NDIS.

The Orientation Module was created alongside people with disability, and will teach you how to meet your obligations and best support anyone who has, or might acquire, a disability.

At the end of the course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion that’s recognised across the industry.

Who needs to complete the NDIS Worker Orientation Module?

Any support worker or Social Carer wanting to offer support to NDIS participants needs to complete the module.

There’s no cost involved with completing the module, and can be completed at your own pace.

How do I access the NDIS Worker Orientation Module?

If you’re ready to take the next step on your Social Carer journey, you can head to the NDIS training website and select the NDIS Worker Orientation Module option.
